Vignelli MTA map is back and online

I have just used the new "Weekender", the MTA informational site for subway weekend schedules. It is beautiful- the original map by Vignelli Associates was iconic in the 70s. It translated so beautifully, it made me realize how much I miss that timeless, clean look of the 60s and 70s. When you use it and zoom into the map, it crops well - the angles and flashing dots are pop art candy for the eyes! Super user friendly too - the column on the left has rules and the train symbols and all the copy in Helvetica. It should be a new chapter in "Helvetica - the Movie". Love!
